TOGETHER, LET’S FUND A PELOTON OF 176* QHUBEKA BICYCLES!
On 18 November 2018, cyclists of all levels will line up to ride the 22nd Telkom 947 Cycle Challenge.
Qhubeka Charity, in partnership with Dimension Data, is inviting you to join us in funding a peloton of Qhubeka bicycles. Help us change the lives of 176 people, by funding bicycles that will improve their access to schools, clinics and jobs.
Last year, through the support of people like you (and your friends, family, companies and other supporters), we were able to fund over 135 bicycles for schoolchildren in Gauteng. This year, we’re aiming to make an even bigger impact by raising funds for 176 Qhubeka bicycles.
Choose Qhubeka as your purpose
When you fund a Qhubeka bicycle, you help people to travel faster and further, and to carry more.
Our programmes are based on a work-to-earn or learn-to-earn principle, and we also distribute bicycles to first-responders to assist with disaster relief.
Help us fund a peloton!
Inspired by the performance of Team Dimension Data for Qhubeka in the Tour de France, our goal is to fund as many Qhubeka bicycles as there are riders at the start of the Grand Tour.
These bicycles change the lives of people like Percy. Percy lives in a village in rural Limpopo where there is no high school. He received a bicycle in 2014, when he was in grade 9 as part of a Qhubeka programme run by World Vision. His bicycle helped him to ride the 5km to the high school in a neighbouring town. In January 2018, Percy got his Matric results – he was one of the four top-performing students in the Limpopo province. He is currently studying to become a medical doctor at the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg.
Percy’s story is just one example of how bicycles change lives.
To inspire you even further in your fundraising efforts, the first 100 riders to raise 1 Qhubeka bicycle (R2 850) will each receive a Team Dimension Data for Qhubeka cycling jersey.**
