JOIN US AND RIDE THE TELKOM 947 CYCLE CHALLENGE FOR QHUBEKA

Together we can fund a peloton of 198* Qhubeka bikes

On 19 November 2017, cyclists of all levels will line up to ride the 21st Telkom 947 Cycle Challenge. Many of them will be riding for a purpose. Qhubeka, in partnership with Dimension Data, is inviting you to join our pursuit to fund a peloton of Qhubeka bikes.

Last year, through the support of people like you (and their companies), we were able to fund over 100 bicycles for schoolchildren and waste pickers in Gauteng. This year, we’re aiming to make an even bigger impact by raising funds for 198 Qhubeka bicycles.

Choose Qhubeka as your purpose

When you fund a Qhubeka bicycle, you help to connect communities to basic services, make learners’ trips to school easier and quicker, improve health and save families money on transport costs.

Qhubeka also believes in empowering people and upholding their dignity. Because of these guiding principles, our programmes are based on a work-to-earn principle. People earn bicycles in return for growing trees, recycling waste, committing to improve their school attendance or their outputs at work, and in various other ways. Whatever they do to earn their bicycles, the result is always the same: a community that is more connected.

Help us fund a peloton!

Inspired by the performance of Team Dimension Data for Qhubeka in the Tour de France, our goal is to fund as many Qhubeka bicycles as there are riders at the start of the Grand Tour.

It takes teamwork to win the Tour de France and similarly it will take teamwork to fund a peloton of Qhubeka bicycles. It doesn’t matter whether you are a veteran cyclist or borrowing a friend’s bike to do your first 947 – you can make a difference by choosing Qhubeka as your purpose.

The first 50 riders to raise 1 Qhubeka bicycle (R2 850) will each receive a Team Dimension Data for Qhubeka cycling jersey.**
