The IITPSA President’s Awards are an annual highlight on the local ICT calendar. The event combines a prestigious long-standing awards ceremony with unparalleled networking opportunities. The 2014 winners will be announced at an exclusive business breakfast, to be held at the Montecasino Ballroom, on Thursday 6 November 2014, and Qhubeka will receive a portion of the proceeds from the event.
The IITPSA President’s Awards is an event that recognises and celebrates the outstanding talent, leadership, vision and commitment of individuals and organisations within the ICT industry. Qhubeka Founder, Anthony Fitzhenry, has previously won the IT Personality of the Year Award at this event, in 2006, which is one of the reasons Qhubeka was chosen as the event charity for 2014.
In 1989, Anthony founded Axiz (Pty) Ltd, which grew to become the largest IT distribution company in Africa. In 2003, he spearheaded the development of an Employee Ownership Trust, which allowed all Axiz employees to become employee owners, and to democratically influence and benefit from the future growth of their company.
The top five finalists for the prestigious 2014 IT Personality and Visionary CIO of the Year awards have been announced, and the winners of each category will be revealed at this exclusive business breakfast. Also on the programme are inspirational presentations around supporting talent and driving innovation from previous recipients, and the MC for the morning is Vusi Thembekwayo, the youngest director of a JSE-listed company, a rock star of public speaking and an SA Dragon.
