Leading Bicycle Development Organisations Combining Forces to Deliver More Programme Related Bikes into the Field

World Bicycle Relief and Qhubeka today announced the formalisation of their relationship, whereby Qhubeka will become World Bicycle Relief’s programme in South Africa. World Bicycle Relief currently provides Qhubeka product development expertise, supply chain logistics, operational and program design as well as fundraising facilitation. Both organisations are committed to transforming individuals and communities in the developing world through the Power of Bicycles®.

World Bicycle Relief is a US-based nonprofit organisation dedicated to transforming individuals and communities through The Power of Bicycles®. Since 2005, World Bicycle Relief has trained more than 800 field mechanics and provided more than 140,000 specially designed, locally assembled quality bicycles to disaster survivors, healthcare workers, students and entrepreneurs in the developing world.

Qhubeka is a South Africa-registered not-for-profit corporation helping rural communities in South Africa move forward and progress by providing quality bicycles through comprehensive programmes to students, caregivers and entrepreneurs in return for service and work done to improve their community and their environment. Since 2005, Qhubeka has supplied over 40,000 bicycles to men, women and children.
