Once in a while, the opportunity comes along to do something you love, for free, and make a difference in the world at the same time. This is one of those times. Don’t let it pass you by!
Qhubeka has 25 entries to the Bryton Elephant MTB Challenge on 8 June 2013 at the beautiful Askari Game Lodge & Spa in the Magaliesberg. We’re offering these 25 places to MTB riders who want to say I AM QHUBEKA by riding to raise funds to help us get more people on bicycles. You would need to pay the entry fee and then ask your friends, family and colleagues to contribute to Qhubeka.
Money raised from this initiative will go to funding Qhubeka bicycles for Rhino anti-poaching patrolling.
This park has the big five although the lions are in an enclosure but the others are roaming free so an indemnity form will need to be completed by each entrant. The Route has been set out with safety in mind.
It’s a chance to:
- Ride your MTB in the beautiful Magaliesberg
- Raise funds for Qhubeka
- Raise awareness about rhino poaching and take a stand against it
Francois from Askari explains that the race will raise awareness and money for the Askari rhino fund to purchase rhino tracking collars, which cost R30 000 each.
“Basically, we can now offer cyclists something the have never experienced before and also help out with the Rhinos,” he says. “We are very excited about it.”
