Half a million children in South Africa walk more than an hour a day to and from school. For the average child that is the equivalent of walking 10km a day or walking the Cape Town Cycle Tour about 18 times in a normal school year.
Fortunately, you have a bicycle so you can cycle the tour rather than walk it, which is why this year we’re inviting you to help us fund bicycles for school children. With a bicycle a child can get to school 75% faster than walking and attend school 55% more. This leaves more time for chores, homework and simply being a child.
The entry fee to ride the Cape Town Cycle Tour with Qhubeka is R1 800.00 (R630 entry fee + R70 administration fee + R1,100 donation).
What you get:
- Entry into the 2015 Cape Town Cycle Tour
- A group start time
- Qhubeka Cycling jersey by Castelli
- The opportunity to change lives with bicycles
