Ride the Momentum 94.7 cycle challenge for Qhubeka

momentum_947_cycle_challenge

On 17 November 2013, the streets of Johannesburg will host one of South Africa’s favourite cycle races, the Momentum 94.7 Cycle Challenge. Now in its 17th year, the one-day race sees cyclists from around the country and beyond South Africa’s borders lining up to the cheers of thousands of supporters. The race slogan is “let’s ride for a purpose” and that’s just what we’d like to ask you to do.

If you’re planning on taking part in the Momentum 94.7 this year, we’d like to ask you to consider riding to raise funds for Qhubeka, which will help us to put more people on bicycles in Africa.

We have 250 Charity Bond entries available to us and the cut-off date for race entries is Tuesday 1 October, so you’d best get started if you want to register as a Qhubeka rider. To do so, you’ll need to raise R2650.00 to cover the cost of one bicycle, helmet and basic bicycle repair kit for a worthy Qhubeka recipient. This amount does not include your race entry, but it does offer you a whole lot of benefits, including being part of the designated Qhubeka start group, a special edition Qhubeka race jersey, a training programme and tips developed by Dr. Carol Austin of ActiveWorx (the coach for Team MTN-Qhubeka), an invitation to an exclusive pre-race pasta party and more.

Download our 94.7 Information Pack to find out exactly how you can Ride for a Purpose with Qhubeka.

If you’re not planning on riding, you can still support Qhubeka’s 94.7 campaign by making a donation.
