Together, let’s fund a peloton of 176* Qhubeka bicycles!

On 17 November 2019, cyclists of all levels will line up to ride the 23rd Telkom 947 Cycle Challenge.

Qhubeka Charity, in partnership with Dimension Data, is inviting you to join us in funding a peloton of Qhubeka bicycles.  Together, we can change the lives of 176 people by funding bicycles to improve their access to schools, clinics and jobs.

Last year, through the support of people like you (and your friends, family, companies and other supporters), we were able to fund over 136 bicycles for schoolchildren in Gauteng.  This year, we’re aiming to make an even bigger impact by raising funds for 176 Qhubeka bicycles.

/  CHOOSE QHUBEKA AS YOUR PURPOSE

When you fund a Qhubeka bicycle, you help people to travel faster and further, and to carry more.

Our programmes are based on a work-to-earn or learn-to-earn principle, and operate throughout South Africa, predominantly in our SHIFT areas.  A SHIFT is a Qhubeka bicycle project that aims to distribute 5000 bicycles per year into a specific geographic area for five years, with the aim of helping to SHIFT the entire community forward.

/  HELP US FUND A PELOTON!

Inspired by the performance of Team Dimension Data in the Tour de France, our goal is to fund as many Qhubeka bicycles as there are riders at the start of the Grand Tour.  These bicycles change the lives of people like Maosa and her family.

Maosa runs a Qhubeka craft programme called Blankets for Bicycles at the Madikwe Rural Development Program (MRDP) in rural North West.  She says her whole family is benefiting from the ways that bicycles change lives.  Her father is the foreman int he Qhubeka Bicycle assembly facility at MRDP and her son also works in the assembly facility.  Bicycles are providing the family with a means to generate income, as well as transport.

Maosa’s story is just one example of how bicycles change lives.

To inspire you even further in your fundraising efforts, the first 100 riders to raise 1 Qhubeka bicycle (R3 450) will each receive a Team Dimension Data  for Qhubeka cycling jersey.**
