Qhubeka Eco programmes are implemented by Wildlands Conservation Trusts. They are work-to-earn prgorammes whereby participants earn bicycles through growing indigenous trees or recycling waste materials. In this video, you can hear from Julia Pakkies, a pensioner, about how she earned her bicycles and how being part of the Qhubeka Eco / Wildlands programme has changed her life.
A big thanks to Team Dimension Data for Qhubeka, which funded Julia’s five bicycles through the #BicyclesChangeLives campaign. If you’d like to support the team and other programme participants like Julia, you can make a donation towards funding bicycles here.
