At Qhubeka, we believe that bicycles not only mobilise people, but connect them too. We see this again and again when our donors and fundraisers from around the world pull together to help us fund bicycles to mobilise more people.
In March this year, we shared the story of Bud and Lentine, who came to South Africa from the USA to ride the Absa Cape Epic as a Trek Women team, and who used their trip to raise funds for 50 bicycles to mobilise women in South Africa.
One of those women was Olwethu, who is now using her bicycle to get to school every day and who has discovered the joy and freedom a bicycle can bring, thanks to Bud and Lentine.
